As the snow poured down (does the snow pour?) I grabbed my camera, got rid of all the extra stuff (battery grip, zoom lens, lights), put on the ten year old 50mm lens and headed out to the archipelago.
It can be very relieving to go back to basics, and also limit your self to one focal length. To reframe you have to move your own body, and in the deep snow, with dogs moving all over the place, there’s simply no time for that. So it’s just up to quick decisions and a bit of luck.
And of course, you’re quite helped by such beautiful creatures.
